ACTIVELY HIRING

shift lead/party host

The Barn Yard is looking for a trustworthy, hardworking, and time-efficient individual to join our team as a Part-Time Manager / Party Host. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, family-focused environment and enjoys creating memorable experiences for children and their families.

This role is especially great for a mom returning to the workforce, someone with school-aged children, or anyone looking for a flexible but consistent schedule in a positive, kid-focused setting.

​

This is a part-time role averaging 25–30 hours per week.

Hours are primarily:

  • Monday – Wednesday: Between 9:15am and 5pm
    (Mondays and Wednesdays typically finish around 2pm)

  • Friday evenings

  • Saturday
     

Pay:

Manager Hours: $20 per hour
Party Hosting: $15 per hour + tips (averaging approximately $30 per hour)

Supervisor Duties:

  • Oversee daily operations during scheduled shifts

  • Supervise staff and ensure smooth event execution

  • Open and close the facility as needed

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment

  • Handle customer questions or concerns professionally

  • Help clean and organize the play floor

Party Host Duties:

  • Lead and coordinate birthday parties and special events

  • Set up and clean up party rooms

  • Engage with children and families in a friendly, upbeat manner

  • Keep parties running on schedule

  • Deliver exceptional customer service

Qualifications:

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Strong time management skills

  • Friendly, energetic, and comfortable working with children

  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Leadership experience preferred

  • Dependable and trustworthy

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet during shifts

  • Mandatory Sundays

  • Additional weekday hours as needed (school holidays, summer season, special events)

TRAVELING MUSIC & MOVEMENT 
TEACHER

The Barn Yard is looking for a high-energy, joyful leader to bring music, movement, and fun to families in our community!

We are continuing the beloved Mini Music Movers program — a structured but relaxed music class for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their caregivers. This program has been loved by local families for years, and we’re excited to find the right person to carry the magic forward.

​

About the Role

• Lead music & movement classes for children (ages 6 months–5 years) and their caregivers

• Create a warm, welcoming, “come as you are and do your best” environment

• Sing, move, and engage families through an established curriculum

• Keep classes upbeat, structured, and fun

Schedule:

Weekday mornings approximately 9 AM – 12 PM 

This role is perfect for someone who:

• Loves singing and performing for kids

• Has big energy and a warm personality

• Is comfortable leading both children and adults

• Has experience in early childhood education, theatre, music, dance, or children’s programming

​

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay (30+ an hour)

​

Barn Hand

Days:

  • Mostly weekends (Saturday/Sunday) - Must be able to work at least 2 weekends a month.  Must be able to work Friday nights

  • Summer Hours during the week

  • There may be an occasional need during the week (Monday - Friday)

​Length of Shift:

  • Saturday: About 4 hours between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM

  • Sunday: About 3-4 hours between 9:30 AM and 7:30 PM. 

(There is availability for more hours if desired!)​

Tasks:

  • The "Barn Hand" is responsible for monitoring the play floor

  • Keeping toys in rotation throughout the play session

  • Cleaning & sanitizing the play floor after the play session ends.  

  • During parties, the Barn Hand may be asked to help greet and/or direct guests or assist with other tasks as needed

​Pay & Benefits:

  • $12 an hour starting

  • A free membership to The Barn Yard is included for the duration of employment (beginning on the date hired)

  • You may bring your child(ren) with you during any Open Play Barn Hand shift

    • 2 Children Maximum

    • Children are not permitted on Sundays during Private or Semi-Private parties

Camp Leader

Days:

  • Mon - Friday during our designated camp weeks (please see camp weeks)

Length of Shift:​

  • Days: Mondays - Fridays beginning between 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  

​Tasks:

  • Supervising and directing camp children within a team of other camp teachers 

  • Assist with the preparation of materials (crafts, sensory bins, etc.) & clean-up and other camp needs

Requirements:​

  • Understand the need for improvisation and leadership

  • Be able to direct a class in a fun and educational way

  • Must have good time management skills

  • Must pass a criminal background check and have state clearances 

​Pay & Benefits:

  • $ 18 an hour

  • Can bring your child to work!  

  • A free membership to The Barn Yard is included for the duration of employment (beginning on the date hired)

PARTY HOST

Days:

  • Saturday/Sunday - Must be able to work at least 2 weekends a month

​Length of Shift:

  • Saturday: About 4 hours between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM

  • Sunday: About 3-6 hours between 9:30 AM and 7:30 PM. 

(There is availability for more hours if desired!)

​Tasks:

  • Our Party Hosts are responsible for helping guide our families through their party by managing time, helping with different tasks, and other host responsibilities

    • Must have good time management skills

    • Must be able to communicate effectively 

  • May be scheduled to work during special events

  • May be required to work “Barn Hand” shifts as needed

​Pay & Benefits:

  • $12 an hour + TIPS (gratuity is not automatic - but is encouraged)

  • A free membership to The Barn Yard is included for the duration of employment (beginning on the date hired)

Class Leader

Days:

  • Currently weekdays only (Monday - Friday) - Must be able to work at least 2 days a week​

Length of Shift:

  • About 2-3 hours 

  • Days: Mondays - Fridays beginning between 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  

​Tasks:

  • Our Class Leader is responsible for directing classes for children from 1 year to 5 years with their grown-ups in attendance. 

  • Assist with the preparation of materials (crafts, sensory bins, etc.)

Requirements:​

  • Understand the need for improvisation and leadership

  • Be able to direct a class in a fun and educational way

  • Must have good time management skills

  • Must pass a criminal background check and have state clearances 

​Pay & Benefits:

  • $ 18 an hour (starting) with bonus opportunities

  • Can bring your child to work!
